Divided, We Fall

Divided, We Fall
Mark 3:25, 1 Cor 1:10

AUDIO: Listen to the audio version of this post HERE.

Mark 3:25 (NIV)
25 If a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.

It saddens me deeply that today’s church has been so infiltrated by political factions and divisions.  Let me start off by saying that I will not use this blog as a platform for political discussion, debate or general rhetoric.  However, I want to discuss what political divisions within the church are doing to the body and how this may be perceived by those watching.

1 Cor 1:10 (CEV)
10 My dear friends, as a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ, I beg you to get along with each other. Don’t take sides. Always try to agree in what you think.

Notice the phrase, “as a follower of our Lord Jesus Christ”.  Before any political affiliation should come our affiliation with Christ.  If we are to be His ambassadors of the Message of hope and deliverance from sin, we must stand together in unity.  We CANNOT stand together if we are tearing ourselves apart through political bickering!  Yes, we are certainly free to maintain our own identity and beliefs regarding the issues, but THIS HAS NO PLACE WITHIN THE CHURCH or within disputes among believers.  The world is watching us.  When it comes to the rulers and kingdoms of this world, they are all established but for a season.  God’s Kingdom will remain!  If only we held such fervor for spreading Christ’s Message.

Let us put aside our pride and earthly political affiliations
to focus on unifying all the peoples of the world in affiliation with Christ!

Also see Racial Deception and the Church by Kyle Fuller of NLI Ministries for further thought and review on a very parallel topic.
