Give Honor Where Honor is Due
1 Tim 5:17 (NIV)

17 The elders who direct the affairs of the church well are worthy of double honor, especially those whose work is preaching and teaching.
This morning, at church, the Odenton Church of God showered love and appreciation on the Pastoral Leadership Team of the church. Many churches often have a scheduled Pastor Appreciation Day, but I have not seen many services devoted to the staff who, serving underneath the senior pastor, are responsible for so much of the work within the church.
Though most likely not from purposeful, outright neglect, a large number of hard-working servants of the Lord are left feeling unappreciated, at times. The road they travel is a rough one, with many pot holes and attractive-looking side roads. They have a calling on their lives to continue down the path the Lord has placed them on. However, it is up to us, as the fellow leaders and laity, to encourage and offer uplifting words to these servants of God. The enemy would like nothing more than to pull them down one of those attractive side roads.
Let’s do our part to be an ENCOURAGEMENT and not a DISCOURAGEMENT to our leaders in the Faith.
Reaching past the church, who can you encourage in your neighborhood, school or workplace? Is there someone who works hard for you who could use a heartfelt, “Thank you!” Your words may just mean so much more than you will ever know.
