1 Thessalonians 5:19 (ISV)

19  Do not put out [extinguish] the [Holy] Spirit’s fire.

How many times have you felt “the nudge” to go witness to someone… or to encourage them… or to bless them with a financial gift… and you failed to act?  According to the Bible:

James 4:17 (CJB)

17  So then, anyone who knows the right thing to do and fails to do it is committing a sin.

The Website, GotQuestions.org, posted an article entitled, “What does it mean to grieve / quench the Holy Spirit?“.  Here is an excerpt from the answer given:

Answer: When the word “quench” is used in Scripture, it is speaking of suppressing fire… the Holy Spirit is a fire dwelling in each believer. He wants to express Himself in our actions and attitudes. [a]

Are you fighting against the spiritual fire that the Holy Spirit has placed inside of you?  Put down that fire hose and allow your spirit to be consumed, so that the Holy Spirit’s fire may spread to others around you!
