Trust God’s Game Plan

Trust God’s Game Plan
Jeremiah 29:11

AUDIO: Listen to the audio version of this post HERE.

Jeremiah 29:11 (NASB)

11  For I know the plans that I have for you,’ declares the Lord,…

[This past Sunday, Bishop Eddie Sweeney preached on God’s Game Plan.  I am including some of the snippets here (summarized).]

God is eternal and everything He creates is eternal until God says it’s not.  God has a Game Plan for our lives and His Plan was set into motion on the first day of Creation (long before the day we were born) and His Plan will not fail.  God’s Game Plan does not end until God says it does.

Habakkuk 2:3 (NASB)

3  For the vision is yet for the appointed time;
It hastens toward the goal and it will not fail.
Though it tarries, wait for it;
For it will certainly come, it will not delay.

No matter what mistakes we make or how many times we mess up and fail God, God does not give up.  God never says, “I’ve had enough; I’m done with you.”  His Plan does not fail.  God’s Game Plan, His calling on your life, is without repentence (Romans 11:29).  When you encounter a life-changing event, the occurence does not take God by surprise.  He merely points to His Game Plan (at the appropriate time, and if He chooses to) and says, “Here’s what We’re doing… Trust your training!

As Pastor Sweeney quipped, with God’s Game Plan, “it’s like Prego… It’s already in there!”

[  Pastor Sweeney did not say this part (and probably would not, as he roots for the rival team), but I am adding it in. (:-)  ]

In professional American Football, the Baltimore Ravens NFL team has an outstanding general manager in Ozzie Newsome.  With Ravens fans, there is a popular saying: “In Ozzie we trust!”  Ozzie has earned this respect as one of the best NFL team executives in the business.  He will make a personnel move or team-based decision and fans will initially be in an uproar and calling for blood.  There will be much fingernail nibbling and hair pulling, but (often times) Ozzie’s “wizardry” pans out and fans will exhale with a chuckle and quote the aforementioned trusting Ozzie bit.

Well, the original phrase is found on U.S. monetary coins and states, “In God we trust”.  Why do we not live this phrase out in actuality?!

Have you been playing out of position and wondering why it seems the Game Plan isn’t working right?  GET INTO POSITION!!  Or have you been in your designated position, but it still seems like you’re on the losing end?  TRUST GOD and keeping playing through!

God’s Game Plan will not fail.
