1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (AMP)

16 Rejoice always and delight in your faith; 17 be unceasing and persistent in prayer; 18 in every situation [no matter what the circumstances] be thankful and continually give thanks to God; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Some people (Christians and non-Christians, alike) become so narrow-focused that when things do not go as planned, they begin to shut out and shun the world.  God has a Plan for our lives.  Fortunately for us, things do not always work out as we planned.  God’s Plan is SO much bigger than our own:

Isaiah 55:9 (KJV)
For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Don’t be like this baby with his fist clenched so tight that he even starts to lose some of what he already has in his hand.

Don’t hold on to your plans so tightly that you not only miss out on God’s Plan, but you begin to lose out on what you have already accomplished.  When things do not go as expected, trust that God is just working out His Plan in Your life!

Romans 8:28 (GW)
We know that all things work together for the good of those who love God-those whom he has called according to his plan.

Philippians 4:6-7 GW
Never worry about anything. But in every situation let God know what you need in prayers and requests while giving thanks. Then God’s peace, which goes beyond anything we can imagine, will guard your thoughts and emotions through Christ Jesus.
