I gazed upon the moon tonight
And stared in awe upon its glory;
Radiating its soft, dim light
Off the water in the corrie.
The picturesque mountain view
Was awesome to say the least;
And when I got my breath anew,
I felt as though my troubles had ceased.
Thus, ’twas a solemn, wistful moment
When my gaze I had to turn,
And return to life abhorrent
With this image in my mind to burn.
